To: Fellow Configuration Management Practitioner
Subject: 2001 CMBG Conference Second Notice
Based on the results of responses to the Configuration Management Benchmarking Group (CMBG) Steering Committee initial notice of March 9, we have developed a preliminary agenda for the 8th annual CMBG Conference. It looks to be a very topical and exciting program. Just as a reminder, here are the conference particulars:
Theme: Strategies for CM Solutions
When: October 28 31, 2001
Location: Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Convention Center
4700 Emperor Boulevard (near the RDU airport)
Durham, NC 27703
(919) 941-5050
A copy of the tentative schedule is attached. This year we have 8 presentations and 8 breakout sessions, derived from your input. The presentation topics are not identified in this mailing, but we will be making another mailing, once the presenters have been contacted and more details can be provided. In that mailing, we will also be asking you to identify the breakout sessions you want to attend.
A copy of the breakout session topics is also attached. The format for this years breakout sessions (e.g., half-day sessions with defined deliverables) should produce good, usable information for each conference attendee to take back and apply. The breakout sessions are always lively and informative group discussions. Most importantly, the conference is a time to meet with your colleagues in the Nuclear Industry CM business. Ample time is allocated to "benchmark" and exchange information. We have also scheduled a "pig picking" social for Tuesday evening. This will be a southern-style barbecue with pork or chicken and all the fixings. It should be a real treat!
You are encouraged to make your hotel reservations as early as possible. When making the reservations, tell the Sheraton its for the Configuration Management Benchmarking Conference hosted by CP&L to get the $95/night rate (single or double). The rates can only be guaranteed up to one month prior to the conference. After that, the rooms blocked out for the conference may be released and subject to a higher rate or not available at all.
The Conference registration fee this year is $175. Your early submittal of the registration fee would be appreciated. Please send the check, made out to Progress Energy to:
