Configuration Management Benchmarking Group To: Fellow Configuration Management Practitioners SUBJECT: 2003 CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT BENCHMARKING GROUP CONFERENCEPPL Susquehanna, LLC is pleased to announce the 2003 Configuration Management Benchmarking Group (CMBG) conference to be held June 15th to 18th, 2003 at The Hotel Hershey in Hershey, Pennsylvania. As the host of this year's conference, we would like to share some preliminary information with you about the conference to allow you to begin making plans to attend this important event. This year's conference promises to be another informative and interactive benchmarking forum. If you have not attended this conference in the past, it is an excellent opportunity to meet and benchmark with other configuration management (CM) practitioners from throughout the nuclear power industry and federal government nuclear facilities. The conference is 2-1/2 days in duration and is comprised of presentations, breakout sessions, and workshops on a wide range of topics related to CM. In this era of rapidly growing recognition of CM importance by owner/operators and regulators, this is a must attend conference! This year's theme is "CMBG, A Decade of Sharing and More Sweet Things to Come" reflecting the 10th anniversary of the CMBG organization and the site of this year's conference, Hershey, PA. ("Chocolatetown, USA"). See the attached information for details of the conference and location. You can also visit the CMBG website at www.cmbg.org for information about this and past conferences. We will be finalizing the conference topics list in a few weeks based primarily on feedback received from the 2002 CMBG conference attendees. A preliminary list of presentation and breakout topics is attached for your information. The Hotel Hershey will be an excellent venue for our 2003 conference. It is a truly magnificent hotel from the early 1900's era of grand hotels that has been upgraded to modern standards while impeccably maintaining its historic flavor. We encourage you to bring your family to enjoy the wide array of tourism and recreational opportunities in the Hershey area. Information about the area is provided in the enclosed attachment. You may register for this year's conference on the CMBG website. Go to the "2003 Registration" tab to access the registration information. Details about registration are also included in the enclosed attachment. This mailing is being distributed to configuration management practitioners identified in the CMBG database. If you are not the appropriate individual to receive this notice at your company or facility, or if there are others in your organization that you feel would also benefit from attendance at this conference, please forward it to the correct person(s). We request that you feedback to us the names and email addresses of any additional personnel you may have notified to enable us to update our database for future communications. Please email this information to CMBG2003@pplweb.com . Hershey Park is one of the best amusement parks in the east. There are historic locations such as the Gettysburg battlefields and museum, the Strasburg Railroad and Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. There are outlet shopping malls and championship golf courses within easy driving distance of the hotel. For those wishing to arrive early or stay late to enjoy the Hershey experience, we have arranged for the conference guest room rate to be extended by the Hotel Hershey for 3 days prior to and 3 days after the conference. Conference Related Events Golf tournament: We are planning to hold a "friendly" nine hole golf tournament at the hotel's on-site regulation golf course on the Sunday afternoon prior to the start of the conference. It should be a fun time in a beautiful setting with prizes and bragging rights to be won. More information will be provided on this event as the conference date approaches. Pre-conference Reception: As with prior conferences, we are planning a get-acquainted reception on Sunday evening at the hotel. This will be a great opportunity to meet and talk with those attending the conference in a relaxed, informal setting. Summer Picnic: Monday evening at the conclusion of the conference agenda we are planning an old-fashioned summer picnic outside the hotel. Family members are invited to attend. Dinner on the hotel lawn: Tuesday evening we will be providing a dinner buffet on the hotel's lawn. Family members are welcome. The food and setting will be extraordinary, we guarantee.
